An emotional match for Canada, Great Britain falls 12–2

The tournament's top scorer, Cole Dupperreault, struck in the very first minute, giving Canada an early 1–0 lead. What followed was a show by Hoah Webster, who assisted on the next three Canadian goals, making it a four-goal advantage. However, the end of the first period belonged to Great Britain, who cut the deficit to 4–1 and earned a power play, which turned into a 5-on-3 at the start of the second period – and the Brits scored again. But the Canadians quickly regained control. By the end of the second period, they had added five more goals, forcing a change in the British net. The third period was firmly in Canada's hands as well, with three additional goals sealing a dominant 12–2 victory over Great Britain.

Coaches´ Quotes

Gary Slavin (CAN): "We weren’t happy with how we started the game, but then there was an improvement and the result was positive. Now we need to recover and get ready for the next game."

Luke Browne (GBR): "The boys started the game a bit slowly, but they gradually found their rhythm. A lot of the ball hockey players from Canada also play ice hockey and they scored quick goals on us. Every team at this tournament is very strong and it doesn’t matter who you’re up against. We need to prepare for the next stages of the tournament."
