Two hat-tricks lead USA over United Nations 14-1

The USA wasted no time and started the game in the best possible way. The international team lacked discipline, which cost them early on, and after just 10 minutes, they were trailing by three goals. The Americans remained efficient and scored three more times in the first period. The same number of goals followed early in the second period, with Connor Callahan completing his hat-trick. The United Nations responded to the unfavourable situation by changing goalies, and shortly afterward, Yianni Papapanagiotou capitalized on a power play to score his team's very first goal of the tournament. However, the game remained firmly under the control of the Americans, who went on to add five more goals. Michael Marchese also completed a hat-trick.

Coaches´ Quotes

Gabi Missakian (UNA): "On the third day, fatigue and injuries are starting to set in. However, the players are finding new ways and digging deep. These are fine young men looking to develop this sport and to grow from it. We appreciate our opponents, we appreciate the federation. Although the task is difficult and challenging, it only leads to growth."

John Dutney (USA): "It was a good 45 minutes. We just tried to keep to the basics, keep it simple, get good habits heading into tomorrow. You know, it’s a big game against Canada tomorrow, so we want to make sure we have good habits going into that one."
