American spirits lifted with dominant performance over GB

The scoring was opened in the fifth minute by forward Jake Glenn, who converted a rebound from in front of the net. What followed was a scoring onslaught by Team USA, which managed to net five goals in just three minutes. And that was far from all – the teams went to the locker rooms with the score already at 9–0. Early in the second period, Great Britain managed to get on the board with a goal from Ryan Kamm. However, the United States quickly responded, reaching double digits. Toward the end of the second 15-minute period, Ryan Gallen, who scored twice, and Aiden Stallard added two more goals. Although the game was already decided heading into the final period, the Americans weren’t done yet. They added another four goals and secured a 16–1 victory – their first win of the tournament.

Coaches´ Quotes

Joe Bradley (GBR): "The United States are a very strong team. The first period was very fast-paced and the second followed in a similar tempo. In the third 15-minute stretch, the pace settled down."

Willie Rennebeck (USA): "The game had great energy. I have to give credit to Great Britain for their play and determination. I’m glad there were no injuries and that everyone finished the game healthy."
