Hungary claims 7th place after confident win over GB

The 7th-place game started early with Botond Polányi opening the scoring just four minutes in, finishing off a pass from behind the net. A similar play followed later in the first period when Tóth doubled Hungary’s lead. In the second period, the Hungarians added three more goals, effectively deciding the match. Despite the loss, the British team found a reason to celebrate as James Hebb scored only their third goal of the tournament. In the final period, Hungary struck twice more and secured a 7–1 victory, finishing the tournament in 7th place.

Coaches´ Quotes

Krisztián Gábor Nádor (HUN): “In this game, we finally managed to generate a high number of shots. The team stayed focused the entire time, which was important. I'm glad we achieved a clear victory.”

Joe Bradley (GBR): “We had some good chances that, unfortunately, we didn’t convert. However, we’re not as experienced a team as the Czechs or Slovaks — we still have a lot to learn. I believe we’ll be stronger at the next tournament.”
