Czechia White U16 comes from behind and wins dramatically to finish 5th

In the game for fifth place against Switzerland, the Czech White team faced a more challenging opponent than their semi-final opponent, and had some difficulties but ultimately prevailed. The game started at a high pace, but gradually levelled off, and Switzerland took a 2-0 lead thanks to a pair of lucky goals. Towards the end of the second period, however, the Czech youngsters managed to reduce the deficit. In the third period, it looked like an impregnable Swiss fortress for a long time, but the Czechs finally managed to tie it. And with just one second remaining in regulation time, they managed to dramatically win it.

Coaches´ Quotes

Martin Hlavsa (CZE): „The match was demanding, and it was clear that we were running out of steam. We had to break through the Swiss defense, which was very challenging for us. We let the game slip away unnecessarily in the first part, but then, with a bit of luck, we showed a great finish."

Tobias Strahm (SUI): „It was a tough battle. We saw that our team lacked experience, and that's something you really need at this level – without it, you just can't succeed. We have to learn from this and be better in those situations next time."
